Objective: Students will be able to create a graph describing the amount of energy they use throughout the day.
How do we (Humans) live our lives day to day?
We use energy every day and don't ever stop to notice. We use energy to wake up with our alarm clocks, we use energy to curl our hair, to cook our food, and many other daily things. Energy is the center of our lives. With that being said we use a lot of it. With Kinetic energy, a renewable energy source, it makes every day live easier to do.
A good way to start this day is to do some brain activities. Start by going to BrainPOP. Have them follow along on some of the readings and activities that are there. Then for the lesson on day four have the students make a schedule of their daily routine. To give them ideas show them the article called 20 Unusual things, which is an article on things people to every day. This will warm up their brains to thing of things they do every day. Then have them make a list of everything they did from the moment they woke up, and what they think they will do right before bed. Then have them circle every time something they did could be used to create energy. you will then have them make a graph showing how much energy they thing they would create in a months time. By doing this it will show them how they can help power the world just by their normal day.
